Meal Planning

I have been busy trying my hands on some new workouts, eating plans and shuffling my time and life to keep body and soul alive and healthy.  One of the things I have been working on is Meal Planning . In the present economic condition we are in this country, everything evolves around planning including how and what we eat to avoid wastage, unhealthy habits and unnecessary stress.  Meal Planning is simply planning your meals ahead of eating them. The planning could just be an idea of the food or explicitly to include the quantity and quality of the food. For example, writing down water as my next meal is a planning but writing down 2 glasses of water is another version and a better one. It's better to be detailed enough while planning so that it would meet it's purpose, i.e. meeting a healthier lifestyle.  In other words ambiguity should be totally avoided when planning meals. If you plan to eat rice for dinner today, what style will it be? Jollof rice, plain rice,

Week 8 Weigh in: 170.4lbs

I tried my best this past week but I think TOM really proved me wrong and I am not feeling bad about it at all. I am growing into it and I believe with time things will work well. As I planned last week Wednesday, I did 5 days intermittent fasting 14:10, one day 18:6 and a 24 hour fast which ended this morning. I stepped on the scale this morning and I weighed 170.4lbs, I know it has something to do with TOM and some other factors I took note of like overeating during my eating window. When breaking the fast by 11am in the morning, my meals are planned and on point but by the time I get home at dinner, there is a feeling to stock my tommy. I am putting that into consideration this week, meaning just because there is a fast does not give room to eat just about anything.  On the exercising front also, I did not lift a finger this week because I was just not feeling it (it's a bane). I am going to make sure to try my best this week to workout for the 7 days starting today, I stil

Infused Water

I saw it, I prepared it, I took it and I loved it . I always wanted something new in my recipes. This weekend I decided to try a drink I had always seen on online, after a long search I realized it is call "infused water" and there is also a special bottle for it although "mason jars" are more in use, for me, I am using a water bottle for a start till I lay my hands on other containers meant for that purpose. The drink gets better with the days, you can drink the water and refill without throwing the fruits or veggies out. My Recipe : Ingredients 1 small orange (cut into small parts to enter the bottle, with or w/o the rinds, I prefer without) 3 leaves of basil or mint leaves (I did not shred, I tore each leaf for easy juice extraction)  (Carrots, watermelon, cucumber, and other freggies as you would love it) Preparation : - Put all your ingredients in the water bottle - Fill with water - Close the bottle and leave in the refrigerator for 4 hours or l

Rut, Lost and Down

I think I am in the blues right now!!! (Rant ahead) At one point in the day, week, months and years of a life there will be something that puts the blue ring on the finger.  When the situation is severe, the person refuses or is unable to come out of the weather. It could become medically diagnosed and treated same, then you call that DEPRESSION. I find myself in this blue mood when there are some situations that are simply beyond my control.  I am discussing this on my fitness/weight loss blog because it is affecting my productivity as an ardent exerciser, I still wonder why I will wake up in the morning and the excitement to work up a sweat is not in me. Coming back home at night, I am tired (not an excuse for me) and the inner strength to even take a walk with “Leslie” is not just there. I have un-resolvable issues on my mind right now and they linger on my subconscious, for God’s sake I cannot wait for fogs to clear before I resume back to some good tough
